Our Work
In preparation for the November 2025 Cambridge municipal elections, some of Cambridge’s leading progressive organizations came together to form the Cambridge Progressive Electoral Collaboration (CPEC). CPEC worked to elevate the progressive issues that mattered most to Cambridge voters, shared where candidates stood on those issues, and encouraged strong turnout among progressive voters. While each Member organization operated independently and made its own decisions, they were united in a shared commitment: to pool resources and organize for progressive leadership and policies in Cambridge.
During Fall 2025, CPEC invited all City Council and School Committee candidates to complete a collaboratively developed questionnaire and participate in public candidate forums. Candidate questionnaire responses are available here and forum recordings are available here.
CPEC itself did not endorse candidates in the elections. However, two member organizations—Cambridge Residents Alliance and Our Revolution Cambridge—used the CPEC questionnaire as part of their individual endorsement processes. The remaining groups used the responses to inform and empower voters, and to help drive a more engaged, progressive turnout at the polls.
During 2026, CPEC will organize community events focused on various progressive issues, develop a dashboard showing City Council and School Committee member decision alignment with CPEC questionnaire answers, and create a voter guide/analysis for the November 2026.
